Sweet School Memories

Gone are those days when the school reopened in June & when we settled in our new desks & benches.

Still remember the days when v queued up in book depot & got our new books & notes.

Desperately wanted 2 sundays & no mondays yet managed to line up daily for the morning prayers.

Missing those days when we began drawing with crayons & evolved to color pencils & finally sketch & tube colors.

Gone are the days when we chased one another in the corridors in intervals & returned to the classrooms drenched in sweat.

Missing the days when v had lunch in classrooms, corridors, playgrounds, under the trees & even in cycle sheds.

Gone are the days when a single PT period in the week’s time-table was awaited more eagerly than the monsoons.

Missing the days when we played “Basketball” & “hockey” in scorching sun.

Missing those days when we rushed early after the to “conquer” window seats in the bus.

Gone are the days while few had tiffin, others had “kulfi ice-cream”,  “vada pav” & “pepsi” in lunch hours.

Gone are the days of sports day & the annual school day & the one-month long preparations for them.

Gone are the days of tenth standard when v spent almost the whole year writing revision tests.

Gone are the days we learnt,we enjoyed,we played,we won,we lost we laughed,we cried,we fought,we thought we laughed, we cried,we fought, we thought.

Wrote this in a public transport bus when i got a comfortable seat so lost in school memories that i missed my house bus stop.

Getting down at the next bus stop čśäčśćčĹ▒.

Memories of school days are always sweet at any time of life. When I look back to my school days like you, I also become astonished how the smallest small things of that life can bring so much happiness! Enjoyed your your school days memories.
